Factor that Increases Insurance Rates: Tickets
One thing that will definitely increase the premium on your auto insurance rate is if you get a ticket for anything from not stopping at a stop sign to speeding. The only kind of auto ticket that won’t increase your insurance rates is a parking ticket. If you do get a ticket, see if you can take a driving class to get the points off your record and reduce the auto insurance rate increase.
Factor that Increases Insurance Rates: Accidents
Likewise, getting in an accident for which you are at fault will also increase your auto insurance rates. This is because the insurance company is forced to pay for damages to the other person’s property and any health expenses, and they will raise your rates because they know that you are more likely than another driver to get in a similar accident again.
Factor that Increases Insurance Rates: Making a Claim
If you make a claim in general on your insurance, your rates are likely to increase. Therefore, if you have a small accident for which you are partially at fault and pay for the repairs in full without going through your insurance company, you might be able to assign some money because your premiums won’t go up.
Factor that Increases Insurance Rates: Buying a New Vehicle
A newer vehicle will usually be more expensive to insure than an older vehicle because the brand for its replacement is much higher. When you are looking to buy a new vehicle (even through the cash for clunkers government program), consider the increase in insurance costs for insuring your new car before making the purchase.
Factor that Increases Insurance Rates: Adding a New Driver
Lastly, if you have a child who is getting to the driving age, you should know that adding a teen driver to the family policy will make the rates skyrocket. If your child does not need to drive yet, it might be worth waiting a year or two until you know your teen will be in a situation in which he or she will need to drive.

Joey Buttafouco’s publicist has set up another headline grabber for his client. In an interview on FOX News, sporting gray “vote for amy and joey” t-shirts Joey and his publicist discussed an upcoming reunion meeting with Amy Fisher. Will the publicity stunt end in a long-term reunion for the two felons and erstwhile lovers? According to reports, the two have been talking again, and are looking forward to the meeting.
The meeting between Joey Buttafouco and Amy Fisher is set to be in Unique York’s Central Park. On a FOX News interview, Buttafouco said his principal reason in meeting Ms. Fisher is to net out what was going on at that point in his life. He has repeatedly claimed that he was on medications, and couldn’t think and reason well, at the time of the incident. When pressed as to whether he expected an intimate reunion with Amy Fisher, he and his publicist nodded. Buttafouco commented that it is strong possibility.
1992, the Buttafouco name grabbed national headlines when Joey Buttafouco’s 16 year-old lover, Amy Fisher, attempted to kill his wife. Fisher left Mary Jo Buttafouco with permanent damage following a shot to the head. Amy Fisher went to jail for attempted homicide, and Joey Buttafouco went to jail for statutory rape of the sixteen year-old.
Buttafouco has had several run-ins with the law since 1992. He moved to California in hopes of becoming an actor. It never panned out for more than a few small parts. In 1995 he was arrested for picking up a hooker, who happened to be an undercover agent. Once he got out of prison, he opened an auto shop. He ended up in jail again, this time for insurance fraud. He also lost his license as an auto mechanic.
Unbelievably, Mary Jo Buttafouco remained married to Joey until they moved to California. He remarried, but has once again divorced.
Where does Amy Fisher fit into the equation? In her co-written book, Amy Fisher: My Narrative, explains her sexual promiscuity as a teen. She claims to have been sexually abused repeatedly, even raped, and to have had an abortion before she ever met Buttafouco at the age of fifteen. Amy and Joey met at his auto repair shop, when she took her car in for repairs. As their relationship developed, one day Joey, then 35, drove the 15 year-old home where their first sexual encounter occurred.
Amy became hyper-focused on Joey. She lost interest in family, friends, and school. Upon Joey’s suggestion, Amy Fisher got a job with an escort service, and started making good money. Amy’s obsession with Joey only grew. Ultimately, she gave him a choice: his wife or her. She was astounded when Joey chose to stay with his wife. She feigned an attempted suicide attempt with superficial cuts on her wrists.
There was a short hiatus in the relationship, when Amy began dating the owner of a local gym. However, before long she and Joey were back together. Amy Fisher then began to obsess on how to regain rid of the biggest obstacle in her relationship with Joey, Mary Joe Buttafouco. Amy claims Joey knew about her plans to kill his wife. She said they discussed them, and he even called her to see if she had a gun. Joey denies any knowledge of Amy’s intent to harm his wife.
May 17, 1992, at 11:30 A.M. Amy Fisher, armed with a Titan .25 semi-automatic gun, went to the Buttafouco home to kill Mary Joe. She was driven by the accomplice who helped her obtain the gun. Mary Jo Buttafouco and Amy had a short confrontation on the front porch of the Buttafouco home. Amy then knocked Mary Joe to the ground and shot her in the head, leaving her for dead.
Joey Buttafouco fingered Amy’s ex-boyfriend in the shooting. He denied the affair and Amy’s allegations that he had given her the gun. When Mary Joe pulled through the severe head injury, Joey gave up Amy, telling people that she might be the shooter. Mary Joe identified her in a characterize as the assailant.
Amy, in exchange for testifying against Joey, the district attorney got her sentence reduced to fifteen years for attempted assassinate, assault, armed felony, and criminal use of a firearm. Mary Fisher served seven years. In 2003, she married a man 24 years her senior. They have one son and live in Long Island, where Amy has become a columnist.
Amy’s husband suspects that she may want to get back together with Buttafouco. He cites her modern breast enhancement, and interest in the meeting with Buttafouco. He is reported as having expressed concern for his marriage.
The final chapter of this epic tragedy remains to be written. Viewers of Geraldo at Large, on FOX News, May 13, were encouraged to visit website to vote for whether Joey and Amy should get back together. I cannot fathom the public encouraging or even participating in this farce. Has Amy Fisher grown up, as she claims? Has Joey Buttafouco changed? It didn’t appear that he had. A heinous crime and great tragedy is being revived for cheap publicity. I am enthusiastic in seeing how society reacts to the revival of the “Long Island Lolita” story.
Meanwhile, I feel certain we can rely on David Letterman to fall back on the butt of his favorite jokes, Joey Buttafouco.

When you read the simple auto insurance strategies you discover in this article, you’ll start thinking of different ways to save on your auto coverage. It is only fitting that auto insurance policies and procedures differ from state to dwelling. This is because each spot has it’s bear site of challenges and issues that relate to motorists and their driving patterns. For example, tons of California drivers have to regularly contend with the 405-freeway. This heavily traveled freeway is part of the California Freeway and Expressway System and is reported as being the busiest and most congested freeway in the United States! Obviously, certain laws that are applicable in California would not even be necessary in a small city, with much less traveled streets and roads. It stands to reason, the more motorists on the road, the more opportunities exist for collisions, and other related auto incidents. This in turn makes it necessary for not just more insurance laws, but specific laws that address the needs of each locality.
Whether auto insurance is being purchased for a teenage driver, a middle-aged driver, or a more seasoned driver, everyone wants to pay the lowest down payment possible. This is also true about paying the lowest monthly auto insurance premiums. Depending on the insured, the position of residence, and the circumstances, overall auto insurance can tend to be high. So much so, you can barely afford to pay your auto insurance AND put gas in your car the same month. Thousands of insured motorists continue to pay high monthly auto premiums, only to have their vehicles sit parked in the driveway!
When purchasing auto insurance, many people are attracted to the ideal of a low down payment. Our money is so stretched as it is, most people want to acquire on to it as long as they can! However, it’s important to keep in mind that a low down payment will affect your regular monthly premiums. You may save a little when you first start the policy, but you are going to be paying more than you have to, EVERY single month. Generally, you end up paying more in the long accelerate.
On the other hand, if you go on and make a larger payment when you first get your policy, you could end up actually saving money. So while an insurance provider may require a large down payment, your regular monthly premium will generally be lower. If your cash situation will allow you to pay a runt more down when buying auto insurance, don’t grumble about it. Just pay it! You’ll be satisfied you can hold on to those few extra bucks each month.
A Inspect At California Laws
The state of California changed the way the Department of Motor Vehicles verifies automobileinsurance for privately owned vehicles. The Vehicle Financial Responsibility Law of 2006 requires California insurance companies to electronically report private-use vehicle insurance information to DMV. Law enforcement, as well as court personnel, all have electronic access to DMV’s insurance records.
The changes were implemented to ensure that vehicles traveling on California roads have at least the minimum requirement of insurance coverage. This would provide financial responsibility for damages or injuries that may result from traffic accidents, regardless of fault. The lawmakers hoped this would also help to remove uninsured vehicles from the roads.
While liability insurance is supposed to compensate the other driver for personal injury or property damages, the truth is, sometimes it is not enough to cloak all the expenses.
Pay A Diminutive Extra And Get A Lot More
Some drivers settle it makes sense to pay a little extra and get comprehensive auto insurance. Doing so will get you a lot more coverage on your auto policy, and can really be a intelligent choice. Unlike liability insurance, comprehensive insurance does provide for some protection for yourself and your own car. If you drive a more seasoned (nice expression for beat up) automobile, you may not be too concerned about any damage to your fill car, but keep in mind, not only can simple liability fail to cover your medical expenses, if any, but, as previously stated, it may not even completely cover the other driver’s expenses. For example, an average liability policy may only cover up to $10,000 in damages to the other party. If you incur damages that exceed that amount (which is highly likely), you’re out of pocket for the rest of the expense. Additionally, you will have to cover your own damages and expenses to you, your car, and passengers (if applicable).
Paying a little extra for additional auto insurance is not always that much more expensive than basic liability coverage. Some individuals learn to adjust their expenses so they can save enough money to pay a shrimp extra for auto coverage. Overall, this can end up saving them a lot more in the long run.
Your monthly auto insurance premiums are affected by a number of variables including: your yearly deductible, amount of coverage, the city and station you live in, and other issues. Any one, of these things can affect your monthly auto insurance premiums, as well as the amount you initially pay to get started. if saving a little money is prompting you to purchase only liability insurance, you may want to re-evaluate that decision and determine another option. For information about Young People Behind The Wheel, continue reading Part 2 of this Associated Content article.
